Servers are the central point in most networks today. They play a very important role in today's business and careful consideration should be given when purchasing the equipment to build a server.

KayeLex Technologies can custom build servers to fit your business needs. We will not force a a bunch of expensive equipment on you that you do not need or recommend a low-end server that will not meet your needs.

When purchasing a server, you will need to consider the following factors :

• Role - Wil your server be a network server, file server, database server, email server, etc. This is important to consider when deciding what equipment the server will need and if more than one role can be combined on one server or spread across multiple servers
• Performance - How many people will be using the system? What will be stored on the server? How many files? These are all important factors to consider when deciding how much RAM, disk space, etc needed for the server
• Disaster Recovery/Fault Tolerance - Depending on the role of the server, it will be important to know if your server will need redundant power supplies, mirrored disks or other error resistant server systems.
• Physical Dimensions - You will need to consider space in your network closet, cooling and heating issues, whether you will use a stand-alone server or a series of rack mounted servers.
